My parent’s shower over tub has a towel bar at the end opposite the shower head and that is pretty nice - it doesn’t get wet unless you’re being really crazy and the towel is right there to wrap up in. As long as the shower is large enough that the towel can be safe from the spray, I don’t see a problem.
