WebDouble click the optifine jar and it’ll give you an option to extract, this will extract the optifine mod that’s meant to be placed in the mods folder. This is a recent change. Otherwise you’re meant to double click it and make a new optifine profile which would install optifine alone without forge or fabric and obviously wouldn’t allow for other mods. So I'd say either disable (typing .disabled after the .jar in the file name) the other Optifines or remove them and loading only the 1.12.2 version in the mods folder if you have a modded Forge instance.

I recommend keeping your Forge installation separate from your normal Minecraft through this option anyways.
